Invitation to Worship
Come, let us sing to Adonai, let us praise the God of all Creation!
We make the Sign of the Cross over our lips as we begin.
O Holy ONE + open my lips,
~And my mouth will proclaim your praise.
Let all creation praise the greatness of God!
Let the universe extol the glory of Adonai!
MORNING HYMN
All may sing or alternate the verses of any Morning Hymn .
By the austerity of life he led,
By the devotion in the prayers he said,
By love of Dominic’s great brotherhood,
And overflowing teaching, wise and good,
St. Albert glorified you, God on high;
O Love, through our prayer, too, be glorified.
In all his study of new books and old
And all of nature that he could behold,
And in his seeking all that God had made,
And in his speaking, calm and unafraid,
St. Albert glorified you, God on high;
O Love, through our work, too, be glorified.
He walked all Europe in the search for truth,
He taught Aquinas in his silent youth.
When health and mind did fail then he humbly
Lived with his weakness in obscurity.
St. Albert glorified you, God on high;
O Love, through our lives, too, be glorified.
For faithfulness throughout the lives we lead,
And for devotion in each prayer and deed,
For love and will to help all those in need,
With Albert’s helpful prayers we humbly plead:
St. Albert glorified you, God on high;
O Love, through our love, too, be glorified.

REFRAIN
Knowledge of divine things is imprinted on our minds by union with God,
just as wax molds itself to the seal.
Canticle of the Three Children (Dan 3:57-87)
You angels and all powers of Adonai,
O heavens and all waters above the heavens.
Sun and moon and stars of the sky,
glorify Adonai.
Praise God and highly exalt God for ever!
Every shower of rain and fall of dew,
all winds and fire and heat.
Winter and summer,
glorify Adonai.
Praise God and highly exalt God for ever!
O chill and cold,
drops of dew and flakes of snow.
Frost and cold, ice and sleet,
glorify Adonai.
Praise God and highly exalt God for ever!
O Mother Earth,
O mountains and hills and valleys.
All that grows upon the earth,
glorify Adonai.
Praise God and highly exalt God for ever!
O springs of water, seas and streams,
O whales and all that move in the waters.
All birds of the air,
glorify Adonai.
Praise God and highly exalt God for ever!
O beast of the wild,
and all you flocks and herds.
All women and men everywhere,
glorify Adonai.
Praise God and highly exalt God for ever!
Let us glorify the ONE, and the WORD
and exalt the HOLY BREATH.
In the firmament of God’s power and love,
glorify Adonai.
Knowledge of divine things is imprinted on our minds by union with God.

READING Sirach 15:1-6
The man who reveres Adonai will do great things, and he who holds to the law will obtain Wisdom. Wisdom will come to meet him like a mother, and like the wife of his youth she will welcome him. She will feed him with the bread of understanding, and give him the water of wisdom to drink. He will lean on her and will not fall, and he will rely on her and will not be put to shame. She will exalt him above his neighbors, and will open his mouth in the midst of the assembly. He will find gladness and a crown of rejoicing, and will acquire an everlasting name.

Canticle of Zachary– Luke 1:68-79
Antiphon
Blessed + be Adonai, the God of Israel,
Who visits this people to set us free
Raising for us a sign of salvation
In the house and family of David.
God promised throughout past ages
In words of holy prophets
To save us from our enemies,
And from the control of our oppressors.
Adonai favored our ancestors
And remembered the sacred covenant.
The pledge to Abraham and Sarah
Is now renewed for us;
That freed from the grip of our foes
We might worship without fear
And be both just and holy
For the rest of our days.
And you, child, called “prophet of the Most High,”
Will go ahead to prepare the way,
By teaching this people of salvation
Through forgiveness of their sins.
For the loving compassion of the Holy One
As the Rising Sun will shine upon us
To illumine the darkness and dispel death’s shadow
To Guide our feet on the way of peace.
Glory to the ONE and to the WORD
and to the BREATH of Love!
As always before,
so now and evermore. Amen.
Intercessory Prayer
You created all things and found everything you made to be very good;
help us to live as your image, loving and caring for all of creation.
You blessed Saint Albert with a keen eye and an open heart to seek and find you in the natural world; ~help all people to find your truth and beauty revealed in everyone and everything.
Albert was not afraid to learn from the Muslim scholars of his day or to seek in the writings of Aristotle insights for understanding the Christian tradition; ~open our hearts and minds to learn from people and cultures who experience the world differently.
Albert’s study and love for the natural world raised contemporary understandings of physics, geography, astronomy, mineralogy, chemistry, and biology and paved the way for the modern disciplines of the natural sciences. ~may scientists today use their talents to promote the freedom, flourishing and fullness of life for all people, all creatures and the whole of creation.
Send forth your Spirit, O God
~ And renew the face of the earth.
Prayer of Jesus
Our Father …
Closing Prayer & Blessing
Holy One, Creator of all things, and God of endless Compassion, you are the praise of all your saints and the joy of all creation. Direct all our actions by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit and further them on with your continual help so that every prayer and work of ours may always begin from you, be carried out in harmony with all of creation, and through you be brought to completion. For yours is the power and glory of love now and forever. Amen.
May the peace of God, who created all things and named them very good, bless all our efforts to walk gently on earth in harmony with all of creation. ~Amen.
Let us bless Adonai.
~Thanks be to God.
