Our Love is truly risen!  Alleluia! Alleluia!

O Holy One,+ open my lips.

Hymn for Easter Mornings

O God of light, the dawning day
Gives us new promise of your love.
Each fresh beginning is your gift,
Like gentle dew from heav‘n above.

Your blessings, Abba, never fail:
Your Word, who is our daily Bread,
The Holy Spirit of your love,
By whom each day your own are led.

Make us the servants of your peace,
Renew our strength, remove all fear;
Be with us, Lord, throughout this day,
For all is joy if you are near.

To Abba, Word and Spirit blest,
One only God, we humbly pray;
Show us the splendor of your light
In death, the dawn of perfect day.
Words: James Quinn, S.J., alt.

Adonai has fed us with the finest of wheat, Alleluia!

Psalm 80/81

Ring out your joy to God our strength,
shout in triumph to the God of Jacob.

Raise a song and sound the timbrel,
the sweet-sounding harp and the lute;
blow the trumpet at the new moon,
when the moon is full, on our feast.

For this is Israel’s law,
a command of the God of Jacob.
imposed as a rule on Joseph,
when God brought us from the land of Egypt.

A voice I did not know said to me:
“I freed your shoulder from the burden;
your hands were freed from the load.
You called in distress and I saved you.

I answered, concealed in the storm cloud;
at the waters of Meribah I tested you.
Listen, my people, to my warning.
O Israel, if only you would heed!

Let there be no foreign god among you.
no worship of an alien god.
I am the Lord your God,
who brought you from the land of Egypt.
Open wide your mouth and I will fill it.

But my people did not heed my voice
and Israel would not obey,
so I left them in their stubbornness of heart
to follow their own designs.

O that my people would heed me,
that Israel would walk in my ways!
At once I would subdue all they fear,
turn my hand and scatter their oppressors.

But Israel I would feed with finest wheat

and fill them with honey from the rock.”

Glory to the One and to the Word

And to the Breath of Love;

As always before

so now and evermore, Amen.

Adonai has fed us with the finest of wheat, Alleluia!

READING   Romans 8:10-11

If Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the spirit is alive because of righteousness. If the Spirit of the one who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, the one who raised Christ from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also, through his Spirit that dwells in you.

R.  Christ our Paschal Lamb has been sacrificed* alleluia, alleluia!.

V. Let us celebrate the festival in joy *alleluia, alleluia!

V.  Glory to the Abba and the Word and the Holy Breath of Love.

Canticle of Zachariah

The One whom God sent speaks the words of God;
and does not ration the gift of the Spirit, alleluia!

Blessed + be Adonai, the God of Israel,

Who visits this people to set us free

Raising for us a sign of salvation

In the house and family of David.

God promised throughout past ages

In words of holy prophets

To save us from our enemies,

And from the control of our oppressors.

Adonai favored our ancestors

And remembered the sacred covenant.

The pledge to Abraham and Sarah

Is now renewed for us;

That freed from the grip of our foes

We might worship without fear

And be both just and holy

For the rest of our days.

And you, child, called “prophet of the Most High,”

Will go ahead to prepare the way,

By teaching this people of salvation

Through forgiveness of their sins.

For the loving compassion of the Holy One

As the Rising Sun will shine upon us

To illumine the darkness and dispel death’s shadow

To guide our feet on the way of peace.

Glory to the ONE and to the WORD

And to the BREATH of Love!

As always before,

so now and evermore.  Amen

The One whom God sent speaks the words of God;
and does not ration the gift of the Spirit, alleluia!

Litany of Intercession

As a pillar of fire, you lighted the way for your people in the desert,
– through his resurrection may Christ be our Light today.

Through the voice of Moses you taught your people from the mountain,
– through his resurrection may Christ be our Teacher today.

You fed your pilgrim people with your gift of manna,
– through his resurrection may Christ be our Bread today.

You gave your people water from the rock,
– through his resurrection may Christ be our Refreshment and Joy today.

Prayer of Jesus

Our Father…

Closing Prayer

We bless and thank you, O Gracious God, for all that you have done in raising Jesus from the dead. You have conquered the power of death and opened to us the way to freedom, flourishing and fullness of life which your love offers to us and all of your creation.  May the Risen Christ breathe into our hearts, minds and souls, and open our eyes that we may know him in the breaking and sharing of bread and follow him in his risen life now and forever.   Amen

May the God of Peace who raised Jesus from the dead + bless us and grant us peace.  ~Amen.

Let us bless Adonai, Alleluia, Alleluia!.    ~Thanks be to God, Alleluia, Alleluia!
