WEEK VII Tuesday

 Major February Snow Storm

Invitation to Worship

Come, let us sing to Adonai, let us praise the God of all Creation!

O Holy ONE + open my lips,

~And my mouth will proclaim your praise.

Awake my soul awake,

~ with my harp I will wake the dawn.

MORNING HYMN

All may sing or alternate the verses of any Morning Hymn .

Now that the daylight fills the sky,
We lift our hearts to God on high,
That God, in all we do or say,
Would keep us free from harm today.

May Christ restrain our tongues from strife,
And shield from anger’s din our life,
And guard with watchful care our eyes
From earth’s absorbing vanities.

O may our inmost hearts be pure,
From thoughts of folly kept secure,
And pride of sinful flesh subdued
Through sparing use of daily food.

So we, when this day’s work is o’er,
And shades of night return once more,
Our path of trial safely trod,
Shall give the glory to our God.

All praise to God our Abba be,
All praise, eternal Son, to Thee,
Whom with the Spirit we adore
Forever and forevermore.

Text: St. Ambrose. Iam Lucas Orto Sidere; Tune: Plainsong

PSALMODY

Antiphon

I will sing of your strength

and each morning acclaim your love!

Psalm 84/85

O Holy One, you have blessed your land
and averted the destruction of Jacob,
You forgave your people’s iniquity
covering all of their shame,
You blessed them and raised up new hope;
Forgiving with merciful love.

Revive us now, God, our Helper!
Refine us with the Fire of your Love!
Restore once again our life,
That all people may rejoice in you!
Show us your Love and Compassion
And grant us your saving help.

I will hear what Adonai has to say,
Speaking with a voice of peace,
Peace for this people and the saints
Who turn their hearts to Love:
New life is drawing near,
Glory is filling the land.

Kindness and faithfulness have embraced
Righteousness and peace have kissed.
Truth sprouts from the earth,
While justice leans down from heaven.

Adonai will grant what is good,
And Earth will bear her fruit;
Justice will walk ahead
And guide us in the ways of peace.

Glory to the ONE and to the WORD

and to the BREATH of Love;

as always before,

so now and evermore. Amen.

I will sing of your strength

and each morning acclaim your love.

READING         1 John 4:12-13

No one has ever seen God.
Yet, if we love one another, God remains in us,
and God’s love is brought to perfection in us.
The way we know that we remain in God
and God in us,
is that Christ has given us of his Spirit.
We have seen and testify that God sent the Son as savior of the world.
Whoever acknowledge that Jesus is the Son of God,
God remains in them and they in God.

Silent Prayer
Responsory

R. May our hearts be wholly with Adonai, that we may keep the Torah and follow its commandments.  V. May God be with us, as God was with our ancestors * that we may keep the Torah and follow its commandments.

Canticle of Zachary–  Luke 1:68-79

 Antiphon

If any of you would be first,
you must be last of all and servant of all.

Blessed + be Adonai, the God of Israel,

Who visits this people to set us free

Raising for us a sign of salvation

In the house and family of David.

God promised throughout past ages

In words of holy prophets

To save us from our enemies,

And from the control of our oppressors.

Adonai favored our ancestors

And remembered the sacred covenant.

The pledge to Abraham and Sarah

Is now renewed for us;

That freed from the grip of our foes

We might worship without fear

And be both just and holy

For the rest of our days.

And you, child, called “prophet of the Most High,”

Will go ahead to prepare the way,

By teaching this people of salvation

Through forgiveness of their sins.

For the loving compassion of the Holy One

As the Rising Sun will shine upon us

To illumine the darkness and dispel death’s shadow

To guide our feet on the way of peace.

Glory to the ONE and to the WORD

And to the BREATH of Love!

As always before,

so now and evermore.  Amen

If any of you would be first,
you must be last of all and servant of all.

Litany of Intercession

We bless you, Creator of all things,
– for you have given us the goods of the earth and brought us to this day.

Look with favor on us as we begin our daily work,
-and guide us to work in harmony with you.

Make our work today benefit our brothers and sisters,
– that with them and for them we may build up the Beloved Community..

Grant joy and peace to us,
– and to all we meet this day.

Prayer of Jesus

Our Father …

Closing Prayer & Blessing

Receive our morning prayer, O Holy One,
and let the radiance of your love
scatter the gloom of our hearts.
The light of heaven’s love has restored us to life;
free us from the desires that belong to darkness. for yours is the power and the glory of  love now and forever.  Amen.

May the God of hope fill us with all joy and peace in trusting God’s Love, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit, we may abound in hope.   ~Amen.

Let us bless Adonai.    ~Thanks be to God.
