Invitation to Worship

Come, let us sing to Adonai, let us praise the God of all Creation!

We make the Sign of the Cross over our  lips as we begin.

O Holy One, + open my lips,

~And my mouth shall proclaim your praise.

Let all creation praise the greatness of God!

Let the universe extol the glory of Adonai!

SATURDAY MORNING HYMN

All may sing or alternate the verses of any Morning Hymn .

Creator of this dawning day,

creation finds its rest in you:

though all must change and taste decay,

you touch our hearts and they are new!

We bless you, Abba, for this Earth,

for all the wonder it retains.

Though we may spurn you in our sin,

your selfless gift of love remains.

Touched by the gift may mind and heart

your praise throughout the world proclaim,

and may this love deep in our hearts

set others blazing with its flame.

The seventh day, this day of rest,

you call us to rehearse your reign:

to cease from work and with delight

to rev’rence all that you sustain.

Most blessed Trinity of love,

for whom the human heart was made,

to you be praise in ceaseless song

on this our Sabbath, blessed day!  Amen.

MORNING  PSALMODY

Antiphon

Dawn finds me ready to seek your help, O my God!

Psalm 118/119:145-152
Koph

I call with all my heart; Adonai, hear me,
I will keep your statutes.
I call upon you, save me
and I will do your will.

I rise before dawn and cry for help,
I hope in your word.
My eyes watch through the night
to ponder your promise.

In your love hear my voice, O God;
give me life by your decrees.
Those who harm me unjustly draw near;
they are far from your law.

But you, Adonai, are close,
your commands are truth.
Long have I known that your will
is established for ever.

Glory to the ONE and to the WORD

and to the BREATH of Love.

As always before

so now and evermore. Amen.

Dawn finds me ready to seek your help, O my God!

READING        2 Peter 1:3-8

God’s divine power has bestowed on us everything that makes for life and devotion, through the knowledge of the One who called us by his own glory and power.

Through these, Christ has bestowed on us the precious and very great promises, so that through them you may come to share in the divine nature, after escaping from the corruption that is in the world because of evil desire.

For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, virtue with knowledge, knowledge with self-control, self-control with endurance, endurance with devotion, devotion with mutual affection, mutual affection with love. If these are yours and increase in abundance, they will keep you from being idle or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Responsory

R.  Christ has bestowed on us precious and great promises, *so that we may share in his divinity.  V. May we escape the corruption that is in the world because of evil desire.  *so that  we may share in his divinity. V.  Glory to the Abba and the Word and the Holy Breath of Love.

GOSPEL CANTICLE

Antiphon

Jesus saw Levi, the tax collector, sitting at his post and said to him: “Follow me.”

Levi got up and followed him.

Blessed + be Adonai, the God of Israel,

Who visits this people to set us free

Raising for us a sign of salvation

In the house and family of David.

God promised throughout past ages

In words of holy prophets

To save us from our enemies,

And from the control of our oppressors.

Adonai favored our ancestors

And remembered the sacred covenant.

The pledge to Abraham and Sarah

Is now renewed for us;

That freed from the grip of our foes

We might worship without fear

And be both just and holy

For the rest of our days.

And you, child, called “prophet of the Most High,”

Will go ahead to prepare the way,

By teaching this people of salvation

Through forgiveness of their sins.

For the loving compassion of the Holy One

As the Rising Sun will shine upon us

To illumine the darkness and dispel death’s shadow

To guide our feet on the way of peace.

Glory to the ONE and to the WORD

And to the BREATH of Love!

As always before,

so now and evermore.  Amen

 Litany of Intercession

Sun of Justice, you filled us with your light at our baptism,
 – may that light guide our path today and every day.

At every hour of the day, may we give you glory,
 – may all our deeds offer you praise.

You called each of your disciples to leave what they were doing and follow you,
 – help us to drop our attachments and keep our eyes and hearts fixed steadily on you..

Send forth your Spirit, O God,

~ and renew the face of the Earth.

Prayer of Jesus

Our Dear Abba in heaven…

Closing Prayer

Gracious God of Wisdom and Compassion, you call each of us to bring the good news of your mercy to a world trapped in ignorance and fear.  Lead us to wisdom through the teaching and example of your Incarnate Word, and the inspiration of your Holy Spirit who live and love with you, One God for ever and ever.  Amen.

Blessing

May God bless + us, protect us from all evil, and lead us to freedom and the fullness of life,  ~Amen.

Let us bless Adonai.   ~Thanks be to God.
