Invitation to Worship
Come, Let us sing to Adonai, let us praise the God of all Creation!
O Holy ONE + open my lips,
~And my mouth will proclaim your praise.
Streams and rivers bless our God.
~Seas and oceans, bless our God.
MORNING HYMN
All may sing or alternate the verses of any Morning Hymn .
The sinless One to Jordan came
and in the river cleansed our stain;
God’s righteousness he thus fulfilled,
and chose the path the Abba willed.
Uprising from the waters there,
the Abba’s voice did then declare
that Christ the Son of God, had come
to lead God’s scattered people home.
Above him see the heavenly Dove
the sign of God the Abba’s Love,
now by the Holy Spirit shed
upon this Son’s anointed head.
How blest that mission then began
to heal and save a race undone!
Straight to the wilderness he goes
to wrestle with his people’s foes.
O Christ, may we baptized from sin,
go forth with you a world to win
grant us your Holy Spirit’s power
to shield us in temptation’s hour.
On you may all your people feed,
and know you are the Bread indeed,
Who gives eternal life to those
that with you died and with you rose.
Text: George B. Timms, alt; Tune: Plainsong
PSALMODY
Antiphon
I will sing of your strength
and each morning acclaim your love!
Psalm 41/42
Like the deer that yearns
for running streams,
so my soul is yearning
for you, my God.
My soul is thirsting for God,
the God of my life;
when can I enter and see,
the face of God.
My tears have become my bread,
by night, by day,
as I hear it said all day long:
“Where is your God?”
Why are you cast down my soul,
why groan with- in me?
Hope in God and praise the Holy One:
my savior and my God.
Deep is calling on deep
in the roar of mighty waters;
your torrents and all your waves
have swept over me.
By day Adonai will send
com-passion and loving kindness;
by night I will sing a song of thanks;
praise the God of my life.
Why are you cast down my soul,
why groan with- in me?
Hope in God and praise the Holy One:
my savior and my God.
Glory to the ONE and to the WORD
and to the BREATH of Love;
As always before
so now and evermore. Amen.
I will sing of your strength
and each morning acclaim your love.
READING Ephesians 2:4-6
God, who is rich in compassion, out of the great love with which God loved us even when we were dead , made us alive together with Christ — by grace you have been saved. With Christ God has raised us up and enthroned us in heaven.

Canticle of Zachary– Luke 1:68-79
Antiphon
Christ is baptized and all the world is holy.
He gives forgiveness for our sins and we are purified by water and the Spirit.
Blessed + be Adonai, the God of Israel,
Who visits this people to set us free
Raising for us a sign of salvation
In the house and family of David.
God promised throughout past ages
In words of holy prophets
To save us from our enemies,
And from the control of our oppressors.
Adonai favored our ancestors
And remembered the sacred covenant.
The pledge to Abraham and Sarah
Is now renewed for us;
That freed from the grip of our foes
We might worship without fear
And be both just and holy
For the rest of our days.
And you, child, called “prophet of the Most High,”
Will go ahead to prepare the way,
By teaching this people of salvation
Through forgiveness of their sins.
For the loving compassion of the Holy One
As the Rising Sun will shine upon us
To illumine the darkness and dispel death’s shadow
To Guide our feet on the way of peace.
Glory to the ONE and to the WORD
And to the BREATH of Love!
As always before,
so now and evermore. Amen
Christ is baptized and all the world is holy.

Litany of Intercession
For all those working to renew and reform church and society, matching each person’s gifts and talents with the needs and opportunities of the world, …
For all teachers, especially those who, like St. Marguerite, strive to provide education to those marginalized in society by racism, sexism and poverty…
For all those who suffer from sickness, injury, or disability and for those called and gifted to serve and care for them…
For those who have died and all who grieve their passing…
Prayer of Jesus
Our Father …
Closing Prayer & Blessing
Holy One, Source of all light and life, you called St. Marguerite to leave her home and homeland and to become a beacon of compassion and instruction for the Native Peoples and French settlers in Quebec. As we celebrate her memory today, fill us with your compassion for all who suffer and your passion for justice so that we may join all the saints in establishing your reign on earth as it is in heaven, for yours is the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.
May the God of hope fill us with all joy and peace in trusting God’s Love, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit, we may abound in hope. ~Amen.
Let us bless Adonai. ~Thanks be to God.
