Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created, alleluia!

Hymn for Novena to the Holy Spirit
Come, Ho-ly Spi-rit, live- in us
With God the Ab-ba and– the Son,
And grant– us all the grace– we need
To san–ctify- and- make– us one.
May mind- and tongue- made strong- in love,
Your praise throughout- the world– proclaim,
And may– that love within– our hearts
Set fire– to o-thers- with– its flame.
Most Bles-sed Tri-nity- of love
For whom each of- our hearts– was made,
To you– be praise in time–less song
And e–verlas-ting- hom–age paid. Amen.

SERVICE OF THE WORD
PSALMODY
Antiphon
These things have I told you that when the time shall come,
you may remember that I told you of them, Alleluia!
Psalm 125/126
Those who put their trust in Adonai
are like Mount Zion, that cannot be shaken,
that stands for ever.
Jerusalem! The mountains surround her,
so Adonai surrounds this people
both now and for ever.
For the scepter of the wicked shall not rest
over the land of the just
for fear that the hands of the just
should turn to evil.
Do good, Adonai, to those who are good,
to the upright of heart;
but the crooked and those who do evil,
drive them away!
On Israel, peace!
Glory to the ONE and to the WORD
And to the BREATH of Love;
as always before,
so now and evermore. Amen.
These things have I told you that when the time shall come,
you may remember that I told you of them, Alleluia!
READING ROMANS 8:26-27
The Spirit helps us is our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit itself intercedes with inexpressible groanings. And the one who searches hearts knows what is the intention of the Spirit, because it intercedes for the holy ones according to God’s will.
Responsory
R. I will send the Comforter to you, the Spirit of truth, alleluia, alleluia! V. The Spirit will declare to you the things that are to come * alleluia, alleluia! V. Glory to the Abba and the Word and the Holy Breath of Love.
GOSPEL CANTICLE
Antiphon
Now this is eternal life,
that they should know you, the only true God,
and the one whom you sent, Alleluia, Alleluia!
Canticle of Mary
My heart + is radiant with the Lord,
My whole being delights in God my Savior.
All people now will call me blessed
For God has loved this humble handmaid.
The Almighty has shown me great favor
Holy is the NAME,
Whose mercy embraces the faithful,
From one generation to the next.
The mighty arm of God,
Scatters the proud in their own conceit,
Pulls tyrants from their thrones
While lifting up the lowly:
Fills the famished with bounty,
And reveals the emptiness of riches.
Rescues lowly Israel,
Sharing such loving kindness,
As promised to our ancestors
To Abraham and Sarah, and their descendants forever.
Glory to the One and to the Word
And to the Breath of Love
As always before
So now and evermore. Amen
Now this is eternal life,
that they should know you, the only true God,
and the one whom you sent, Alleluia, Alleluia!
