HYMN FOR EASTER
ALLELUIA! ALLELUIA! ALLELUIA!
The Lamb’s high Banquet await, in snow white robes of royal state.
And now the Red Sea’s channel past, to Christ, our Love, we sing at last. (R)
That Paschal eve God’s arm was bared, The devastating angel spared:
By strength of hand our hosts went free From Pharaoh’s ruthless tyranny.
Now Christ, arising from the dead, From conquered hell victorious sped;
He leaves the tyrant holding chains And Paradise for us regains.
To you, once slain, again you live, All glory Love, Your people give;
All glory, as is ever meet, To Abba and the Paraclete.
Text: AD COENAM AGNI PROVIDI (7th century) tr. J.M. Neale,, alt ; Tune: PASCHAL LAMB L.M.

Psalm 113a/114
When Israel came out from Egypt
Jacob’s children from a foreign country
Judah became the holy place for Adonai
Israel became the place where God reigns.
The sea fled at the sight
the Jordan turned back on its course,
the mountains leapt like rams
and the hills like yearling sheep.
Why was it sea, that you fled?
that you turned back, Jordan, on your course?
Mountains, why did you leap like rams
and you hills, like yearling sheep?
Tremble, O Earth, before Adonai,
in the presence of the God of Love,
Who turns the rock into a pool
and flint into a spring of water.
Glory to the ONE and to the WORD
and to the BREATH of Love!
As always before,
so now and evermore. Amen
God brought out this people with shouts of rejoicing. Alleluia! Alleluia!
READING Hebrews 8:1b-3a
We have such a high priest, who has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven, a minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle that the Lord, not man, set up. Now every high priest is appointed to offer gifts and sacrifices. –

Gospel Canticle
Antiphon
Jesus met the women and greeted them.
They came up to him and knelt at his feet, alleluia.
Canticle of Mary
My heart + is radiant with the Lord,
My whole being delights in God my Savior.
All people now will call me blessed
For God has loved this humble handmaid.
The Almighty has shown me great favor
Holy is the NAME,
Whose mercy embraces the faithful,
From one generation to the next.
The mighty arm of God,
Scatters the proud in their own conceit,
Pulls tyrants from their thrones
While lifting up the lowly:
Fills the famished with bounty,
And reveals the emptiness of riches.
Rescues lowly Israel,
Sharing such loving kindness,
As promised to our ancestors
To Abraham and Sarah, and their descendants forever.
Glory to the One and to the Word
And to the Holy Breath of Love
As always before
So now and evermore. Amen
Jesus met the women and greeted them.
They came up to him and knelt at his feet, alleluia.
